Wow!!! This was sooooooooo— hard for me!! This pup really was everything I want in a pup!!! He has a super home and will be hunting 90 -1 00 days a year all over the country. What more could I ever ask for?! Congratulations to The Damore Family. I look forward to many years of hunting with you guys!! Welcome to The Paint River Family.
Well I have been telling myself since the day this dog was born that I was keeping him because I have just felt that he represents everything that I look for and instinctively believe in my heart and my gut that greatness can be. I have been also telling myself that I do not need to keep a son of Duncan since my super star is so young himself— so if a hunting home that I felt would give him the world and a hunting life exceeding the life I could give him— I’d let him go as long as he may be able to make a contribution to the breed, if and when he has proven himself down the road. With happy glassy eyes I can say that this special kind of home has found Nikon and me. Nikon will be hunting in many states all around the country every year for many months out of the year and still reside within an easy drive of his birth place. Oh boy!!! I’m going to cry like a baby when this dog leaves tomorrow!! But I couldn’t be more happy for my little man!! Congrats to The Damore Family of Brightwaters, Long Island, NY. —And welcome to the Paint River Family!!
It has been a busy weekend— Canon left yesterday and Kodak left today. Tomorrow Leica and Olympus go to their new homes! The O’Brien Family came this morning to pick up Kodak. I wish this lovely family all the best with their new addition to their pack!!
The Llewellin Setter pups are doing great— Canon went home today and Kodak tomorrow then Lecia and Olympus Monday night. ROTOR IS STILL AVAILABLE!! The house will be getting much more quiet very soon. Here are some photos to enjoy. Today the first little Camera left us— it’s always bitter sweet when we have to say good-bye to our little ones. I could not be happier with our first pup going to the lovely Hyde Family from Michigan. How poetic— our first pup goes to Michigan. The Hyde’s drove all the way to NY for their new little boy. Kodak will be departing this weekend for his new home in western NY. We will miss him but look forward to all the joy and updates from his new family.
Ok!— So I know the title of this post is redundant BUT!!— all these little nibbles on phone calls and emails….. where are all my serious dog people that adore the greatest bird dog breed on the planet?!….. This little guy is awesome!! He can be picked up any time and can fly weather permitting after Christmas.
The Cameras Litter will be 8 weeks old tomorrow!! Wow!! That went fast!! They are ready to go to their new homes now so those are ready to take a pup home step up to the plate!! I have two awesome boys left in this litter at this time— Canon and Leica.

Today Paint River’s Llewellin Setter puppies from the Cameras litter have had a busy day!! Today we started off with a big romp-a-room play session in the kitchen for a couple hours while we did the property chores—drove to vet with the Cameras for their first puppy exams where everyone check out great!!— got back home to the kennel for some play time for a couple hours before we did meet and greets with families. To date the Cameras have received two dewormings of Pyrantel, one vaccination for Distemper, Adeno-2, Parainfluenza and Parvo (DHPP) and Albon tabs for coccidia. They will receive one more deworming, another DHPP and Albon treatment prior to going to their new loving homes in couple weeks. All of this information will be given to you on their history card at the time of pick up. Today resulted in the following puppy picks:
