Five month old Jack out of Pixel by Duncan looking good
We will be breeding Pixel and if all goes well we will have pups on the ground early November and ready to go early January.
In exactly 4 weeks from today PRL will be out west arriving in the grouse woods. Here is a beautiful point from Omiimii today training at the farm.
It’s been a very fun summer with working young setters from this past breeding season despite the heat and humidity that the past couple months has brought. Here are a few photos of three of the dogs that we have had an opportunity to work in the fields: Zulu, from the critters litter, Jack and Sierra from the flowers litter.
This fantastic little pup from our Flowers Litter goes home tomorrow back to Quebec, Canada. She is just 4.5 months old and doing terrific! We gave her a great start on birds with her seeing over 100 pigeons in the past month, got her comfortable with a bell and gps collar, in addition to getting all her basic commands introduced and well on their way. Best of luck to Sierra and her owner in their first season in the grouse woods together.
Omiimii will be bred Jan/Feb pups should be born Mar/Apr. Pups ready May/June. Great grouse dog and has produced some fine bird dogs between her first two litters.
Here is two-month-old Lacey Scarlet in our evening routine with the setters on the bed.
This young puppy is out of one of our most recent litters, the Flowers litter , Pixel by Duncan. Her litter name was Buttercup. She is staying with us for several weeks why her owners are out of the country. Doing some foundational bird work during her stay here at PRL. This is a typical Pixel by Duncan puppy developing wonderfully by four months of age. This is Sierra’s fourth time now in the training field with pigeons.
The sisters are now six months old today and I couldn’t be more pleased with the progress. So happy to see that all the young dogs look very promising for making the cut in the program. Going to be an exciting hunting season coming up!
Ripple, Chippewa, Stella, and Missy earlier this week in the training fields. 11 weeks until our season begins!
Can’t get better than this!! Here’s Missy at five months old. These kids have loads of talent!
