Fine pair of grouse dogs. We have a couple male reservations we are still taking at this time. Please email us if interested.

Paint River’s Widget Levi has just come into heat and will be bred in two weeks to Paint River’s Duncan Levi for the third time. Super grouse dogs!!! We are currently accepting a couple more male reservations until we have pups on the ground to see what we have. This is always a highly anticipated breeding! We have had males from this breeding all over the country and especially in grouse country and the reviews are awesome! Check out our website for all details! We’ve started to get the Llews back out on birds this week and will continue to do so until we leave for our five week hunt trip to the UP in September. The kids are looking good after their first day back to work in many months! Click on photo to enlarge and use slideshow feature.

Hi Everyone!!
Well Pixel, Widget and Omiimii all came into heat during the month of April! If nature cooperates we will be breeding both Pixel and Widget for sure this fall and Omiimii is a possibility but that will be a last minute decision. We still have reservations available on both litters so step up and join the Paint River Family! Please stay tuned as we will be listing any news here. A reminder to follow us on Instragram at kylewarrendogs— there is endless llewellin fun on our Instagram page.
Hello Everyone,
Sorry I haven’t been giving too much updating lately… been very busy around here with full house renovations and many dogs to train! So this week both Pixel and Omiimii are in heat. This is Omiimii’s first heat at 16 months old. Omi will not be bred most likely until a year from this winter but we will see. Pixel has a couple reservations on her next litter, which providing her next heat is on time should be conceived sometime in October. Then there’s Widget… the long awaited Widget litter! Widget was not bred this winter due to skipping a heat. We are hoping she will be coming into heat between now and the summer with the plans of a winter litter for she as well. Widget also has a couple reservations.

We haven’t gotten in as much as pre-season bird training as we would have liked due to working so much to enable our time away in the UP for 5 weeks but all the Llews are seeing birds at least once a week and receiving conditioning 3-4 days a week. After our first week in the UP I think we’ll be look’n pretty darn good! Here are a few pre-season photos our Llewellins doing their bird dog thang in the Catskills of NY. Enjoy!

Here’s a photo of Riley…. obviously these tri color beltons are taking after their dad Duncan. They are getting so dark!! Gorgeous!!
Here are Lhotse (Spark Plug) and Axle (Winston).

It is still a toss up as to whether these llews really love figure skating or they think that the people on television look like birds flying around….. ah— probably think they are birds but it’s pretty darn funny!! Here are two videos of Widget and Pixel watching the U.S. Championships in Figure Skating last night. We had a good laugh!!
These Llewellin Setters deserve far better bird country than they have been stuck with lately….. it’s a down year for grouse and considering we are not in grouse heaven to begin with it’s been long hard hours with not much paycheck for all that labor. Today I decided to bring some pigeons along for the ride in case we got skunked on grouse— we did so at least they got a little action on our remote launcher pigeons. Some beautiful points below of my trio.
…… I’m not trying to rub it in to all my new Paint River puppy owners…. but this is one of the benefits of not having puppies in the house at the moment. Widget and I are catching up on some early evening rest from the past several months.
Well it was a very busy afternoon here with our little pups from Paint River Llewellins!!! Time to get the Kleenex out!! Weep—weep! All my little kids have flown the coop!! They all have such wonderful homes and I’m so thankful for connecting with all of these families. Here are photos of today’s departures.

My adorable little Spark Plug has moved south to quail country….. this was a very hard pup to let go of….. reminds me so much of her mom— Widget. Super little girl!! We drove down to New York City to meet her lovely new mom, Lauren at LGA airport so Spark Plug could fly to Texas in the cabin with her mom. Here is a photos of Spark Plug— one with her new momma and another of her checking out the view from the truck on the way down to the big city.
It will be a quiet Monday……. all four remaining Gizmos leave this weekend and Olympus has several strong interests that we hope we will find a great match!! These Llewellin Setter puppies are just the best little munchkins ever!!!
Great little puppy!! I look forward to many wonderful updates on this little girl!!
